ZipNest is a content site. The vast majority of pages here can be read without sending us any information about yourself beyond a standard HTTP request. This page describes the few cases where data does change hands and what happens to it.

Information we collect automatically

Like virtually every web server, ours records the IP address, requested URL, response status, user-agent string, and approximate timestamp of every request. We use these logs only to operate the site — debugging errors, blocking abusive crawlers, and understanding which pages are most useful. Logs are retained for a short rolling window and are not associated with any personal identity.

Search queries

When you use the search box, the query you type is sent to our server as a URL parameter and may appear in our access logs. Don’t enter sensitive personal information into the search box.

Cookies

The core site does not set first-party tracking cookies. If you opt into a non-essential feature (for example, dismissing a notice), we may set a small cookie to remember that choice. Third-party services described below may set their own cookies according to their policies.

Advertising

We display contextual advertising in dedicated slots, marked in the page source as ADSENSE_*. Advertising partners may use cookies and other technologies to measure ad performance and to serve more relevant ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising via your browser settings or the relevant industry self-regulation tools (such as the NAI opt-out and the DAA WebChoices tool).

Analytics

We may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to understand aggregate traffic patterns (top pages, referrers, country-level location). Where used, the analytics provider does not receive personal identifiers and does not set cross-site cookies.

Children

ZipNest is a general-audience reference site and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your choices

You can browse ZipNest with cookies disabled, with an ad blocker enabled, or through a privacy-focused browser without losing functionality. Most pages are designed to be fully readable without JavaScript.
